               HAVE YOU BEEN SUED ON A CREDIT CARD, MEDICAL BILL OR OTHER DEBT?  
 
                We represent individuals who have been sued on credit card debt, medical bills and other debts.   Frequently, these debts are no longer owned by the original creditor, but rather have been "sold" to collection agencies or other companies who buy bad debt.  Many of these lawsuits are brought in the Special Civil Division division of one of the New Jersey County Courts, with the lawsuits being served by mail.  Unfortunately, many people who receive these lawsuits in the mail, simply ignore them, allowing the collection agencies and debt purchasers to obtain "default judgments" against them.  These same companies try to collect on on these judgment by wage executing wage garnishments and bank levys.  
 
                 We aggressively fight these collection lawsuits on behalf of clients, by answering the lawsuits, and asserting counterclaims where appropriate.  In the case of medical or hospital bills, we attempt to bring in the insurance company as part of the lawsuit, if insurance has denied a claim.   We have  been successful in significantly reducing the amount owed and settling the cases on favorable terms.   We have also been successful in overturning default judgments, even after wage execution has begun.  We have represented clients who have been sued by:
